BOB DOWNHAM

Low Whistle and Uilleann bagpipes

Bob Downham (f. 1999) plays Low Whistle and Uilleann Pipes and is from Ledston Luck, West-Yorkshire. Bob has a bachelor’s degree in Folk and Traditional Music from Newcastle University, and is taking a masters in composition. He has a love of traditional Norwegian music and was an exchange student at USN Rauland. Bob is involved in a number of projects, notably the Anglo-French inspired Hearken Quartet (https://www.facebook.com/hearkenquartet) and has collaborated with like-minded young folk musicians from places such as America, Russia and Nepal.

Two Truths and a lie:
1) Bob used to wear a medical eyepatch when he was a kid.
2) Bob started playing the recorder before moving to the tin whistle.
3) Bob cycled the Coast to Coast when he was 11 years old.
